Michel Figuera

In 1981 he builds his first board and in 1984 he opens Tarifa's first board shop, greatly influencing the image change that would take place over the years in the municipality.

He has handcrafted more than 8000 windsurf and kitesurf boards over the years under the name FUNWORKS. A true pioneer, he introduced and reinforced kitesurf in Spain. He also designed and organized the first world event of the sport in Tarifa in the year 2000 and continued that endeavour until 2010. International kitesurf judge and one of the first titled instructors of the sport (2002), he has also been responsible of the organization of several editions of Clásica Toro Andaluz, one of Spain's most popular windsurf competitions. Currently he is still deeply involved in various projects and international events. He has never left the beach.
